Collecting diecast signed cars, vehicles and signed memorabilia is a fascinating activity limited only by your imagination, given the huge range available in a variety of scales from 1:72 to 1:6.

Some of the classic diecast cars are as desirable as their full-size equivalents, for example, Chevrolets from 1955-1957. These are relatively easily found although some, such as a Volkswagen with a Coca-Cola advertisement are rarer. Diecast models with advertisements or commemorating an historical event are generally more expensive than the "standard" model. Other collectors' favourites are those that represent the particular generation, such as tie-dyed cars from the 1970s, or sports-related models such as Formula One. Signed cars and associated memorabilia are particularly desirable.

Some car collection sets were released with figurines or multiple cars designed for a specific period in time. Whether it's a set of delivery trucks or police squad cars, these sets add interest to any collection, particularly if containing signed cars.

Consecutive years of a particular make of car, say for years 1950 - 1960, can increase the value of a collection. Many collectors recommend collecting each car from a particular maker for each year although several might be difficult to locate. However, there are many online clubs devoted to enthusiasts trading cars and signed memorabilia.

Perhaps the most desirable signed car / signed memorabilia is that associated with James Bond. An original 1965 Corgi Aston Martin, with original box, insert and instructions, as featured in Dr No. (starring Sean Connery) would be of considerable interest. Were this to be a signed car, the price would probably be doubled. The creativity is endless. For example limited edition collector's sets of highly detailed, characters in a moulded replica film reel tin are continuing to grow in popularity.
