Cast or Multiple Signed
Cast or multiple signed memorabilia generally comprise photographs signed by (rarely) the complete cast of a show or film, or by those playing the starring roles. As with other items of memorabilia, a Certificate of Authenticity should be issued by the vendor, verifying that the autographs are genuine. The value of such items will depend on the rarity and "prestige" of the signatories. It is worth bearing in mind that apart from cast signed and team photos, multiple signed items can be devalued if the signatures are not considered equally valuable / collectible.
Amongst popular cast signed memorabilia, a 10" x 8" photograph signed by Tom Cruise and Dakota Fanning, from the latest remake of "War of the Worlds" may fetch as much as £50. However, a similar picture of Courtney Thorne Smith & Josie Bissett from US TV series "Melrose Place" may be worth less than a third of the value. In a similar vein, a photograph with autographs of Pierce Brosnan and Denise Richards will be of a similar value to a similar photograph of, say, Will Smith and Kevin Kline, at around the £30-£35 mark.
One of the most sought after items of multiple signed memorabilia is a 12" LP Cover of The Who's album "Quadrophenia," with autographs of all major cast members from the 1979 film of the same name. This unbelievable collection of signatures features the hand-signed autographs of John Altman, Leslie Ash, Garry Cooper, Phil Daniels, Michael Elphick, Gary Holton, Trevor Laird, Kim Neve, Gary Shail, Timothy Spall, Sting, Mark Wingett, Kate Williams, Toyah Willcox and Ray Winstone. Its value and "collectability" value is increased by the fact that it was signed during filming and contains the very rare autographs of Sting and the deceased Gary Holton, coupled with the fact that authentication was obtained on the film set itself.
