Gold Discs, Record Signed - Letter Z
These attractive "massive" display items include a CD gold disc / record, along with a signed photograph of the band or artist. The size of the displays allows them to transform any wall. They are eye-catching enough as single items, but form a particularly impressive display when arranged in groups. The content of the "Z" category of gold discs and signed gold records is a little limited, but there are several candidates for future inclusion.
Colombian singer Charlie Zaa commenced a solo career in the mid 1990s and became an overnight teen idol in Latin America, with his bolero rhythms. His debut solo album, "Sentimientos" sold over 3 million copies throughout Latin America and the USA, achieving platinum status from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), while his follow-up album, "Un Segundo Sentimiento" went multi-platinum. His 4th album, "De Un Solo Sentimiento," achieved dual-platinum certification and was nominated for a Latin Grammy Award in 2002.
US heavy metal singer-songwriter, Rob Zombie, has a string of gold discs to his name and his signed gold records seem likely to prove popular with collectors. They include 1998 release, "Hellbilly Deluxe," which peaked at no.5 in the US Billboard 200, achieving 3x platinum status in November 2000. His subsequent "The Sinister Urge" was also successful, reaching no.8 in the Billboard 200 and achieving platinum certification.
Warren Zevon was an American rock singer-songwriter renowned for the inclusion of his satirical opinions of life in his lyrics, often composing songs with political or historical themes. His first album, 1978 release "Excitable Boy," received critical acclaim and was commercially successful, reaching no.8 in the Billboard Pop Albums Charts and achieving gold certification in both the USA and Canada in its year of release. The album eventually went platinum in the USA in 1997. Following his death from cancer in September 2003, a copy of one of these albums, particularly signed, would be much sought after.
