Ian George Brown, an English musician who was best known as the lead singer of the popular alternative rock band The Stone Roses, decided to pursue a solo career after the band split and released six albums, earning fourteen top ten UK singles. During his solo music career he has performed six UK tours and has also appeared at Glastonbury three times. He has worked with the Oasis singer Noel Gallagher and has made five appearances at the V Festival - more than any other musician. Brown's latest album, 'My Way', was released in September 2009 and was inspired by Michael Jackson's 'Thriller', which he describes as his blueprint.
Hailing from Calabasas in California, the musicians Jose Pasillas, Brandon Boyd and Mike Einziger formed the popular American rock band Incubus in 1991 whilst they were still at high school. After the band expanded to include the bassist Alex Katunich and Gavin Koppell, later replaced by DJ Kilmore and bassist Ben Kenney, the band attained critical success and achieved multi-platinum sales. Some of their most commercially successful hits include 'Morning View' and 'Drive'.
The east London heavy metal band, Iron Maiden, founded by the songwriter and bassist Steve Harris, have released 30 albums and five compilations since their founding. They were instrumental in the development of the New Wave of British Heavy Metal which begun in Britain in the late 1970s and gained international attention by the early 1980s. They achieved significant success through the 1980s and during their career their albums have attained gold and platinum status. Their latest album is The Final Frontier, which is due for release in August 2010.
